Chris Gayle marked his return to five-day cricket by hitting 150 as the West Indies moved past New Zealand’s 351 all out on the third day of the opening Test here to build up a healthy lead.

At the close yesterday, the hosts were 442 for 6 – a lead of 91 -with Gayle and Kieran Powell both hitting centuries before Assad Fudadun and Narsingh Deonarine weighed in with half centuries to give the home side a solid edge as the Black Caps struggled even given some swing from the new ball.
