At least five people were killed and 12 injured in a suicide attack and a roadside blast targeting security forces in Pakistan’s troubled northwestern Swat valley on Friday.
Two security personnel were killed and 11 injured when a suicide attacker rammed his explosives-laden vehicle into a building close to a check post located about two kilometres from Mingora, the main city in Swat district of North West Frontier Province,TV channels reported.
However, there was no official word on the powerful blast in Fiza Ghat area, which damaged several nearby buildings.
Troops cordoned off the area and prevented journalists from going to the site of the blast.
The local Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.
