The primary reason for choosing the US is its society’s openness to immigrants, followed by other reasons such as opportunities to join family members or to start a new business, the survey said.

The number — 12 million more than their Indian counterparts — has prompted analysts in China to call for more measures to stop the outflow of talents and wealth,China’s state-run newspaper Global Times said.

The trend of Chinese to migrate, especially to US and Canada,in recent times has surprised the country’s establishment as it is happening at a time when China has emerged as the second largest economy registering fastest economic growth for about two decades.
