
Zimbabwe started their tour of Australia with an embarrassing first innings total of 149 against a Perth grade side today. The local side Rockingham-Mandurah won the toss and elected to field first, opening bowlers Darren Waites (4 for 22) and Tim Gilbert (3 for 35) exploiting a lively wicket. Sean Irvine was Zimbabwe’s leading scorer with 41 but the touring team lasted only 69.4 overs. Rockingham-Mandurah were 52 for three at the close.
