
PATIALA, Oct 14: The Patiala district administration has geared up to meet any eventuality in case of an outbreak of dengue and a red alert has already been sounded, keeping in view the cases reported from nearby districts.
Deputy Commissioner Jasbir Singh Bir, after presiding over a high-level meeting here today, said the Municipal Corporation authorities have been instructed to strictly implement Municipal Act 302-B to combat the disease. He said the public has also been instructed not to allow collection of waste water in nearby areas.
He said that platelet separator units had started arriving at the government Rajindra Hospital here, in case of any reported case.
Civil Surgeon Dr Rameshwar Chander said the anti-larval teams of the Health Department had been put on their jobs to counter the dengue panic and spray was in progress.
