Orascom, MTNL not to get Saudi mobile licence

The Saudi telecom watchdog has disqualified Egypt8217;s Orascom and India8217;s MTNL, two of the nine groups bidding for a third mobile phone licence in the Gulf8217;s largest telecom market.

Communications and Information Technology Commission CITC will open on next Saturday financial proposals by seven consortiums that were qualified, it said.

The consortium of Reliance Communications with Abdullah Adbulaziz Al-Rajhi has qualified for the mobile licence.
