Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday lashed out at BJP leader and actor Shatrughan Sinha for criticising the state Government. Sinha had accused the state Government of “not doing anything” to develop a film city.

The CM said it was “tough to acquire land here and convince the farmers about compensation”.

He wondered why Sinha, popularly known as Biharibabu, had all of sudden started criticising his own government. “Does he want to contest Lok Sabha election from Patna? He should know that Bihar is not a rich state and officials here have little knowledge about a film city,” said Nitish.

Sinha had recently said that his proposal pertaining to a film city was “gathering dust”. He had also criticised Government officers for their “lethargy”. The CM said that “any criticism of his officials was his criticism”.

Taking potshots at Railway Minister Lalu Prasad’s frequent “foundation stone laying” ceremony, he wondered why such ceremonies had been reserved for the election year and that too, for Bihar. He regretted that the state Government had not heard anything from the Centre on the release of Rs 1,400 crore Kosi package.
