THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, JANUARY 29: More than 3,000 non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in the country have been blacklisted till December 31 last and the ministeries concerned have been asked to stall the central assistance to them, Central Social Welfare Board chairperson Mridula Sinha said. Sinha said the board had scrutinised the working of all the 20,000 NGOs associated with it and found that more than 3,000 were not functioning properly and many of them were misappropriating the funds.
