CHANDIGARH, Dec 13: A special meeting of the executive committee of the Guru Gobind Singh Foundation was held here yesterday which stressed the need for reforms in gurdwara management to make the Khalsa tercentenary celebrations truly meaningful.
Presiding over the discussion, the chairman of the Foundation, Jasbir Singh Ahluwalia stressed the need for a Sikh reform movement to help the community come out of the crisis of social, political and ideological problems. The first step towards the reformation should be structural reforms in gurdwara management, he added.
Ahluwalia regretted that although a manifesto had been prepared suggesting a number of structural changes in the management of Sikh shrines, no measures have been initiated during the last two years.
