
Patna, June 9: National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Friday demanded dismissal of Chief Minister Rabri Devi if she failed to resign after the designated CBI judge, S K Lal, framed charges against her in a disproportionate assets case.
A constitutional crisis has been created after the special court framed charges against Rabri for abetting accumulation of disproportionate assets by RJD President and her husband Laloo Yadav on Thursday, BJP state president Nand Kishore Yadav, Opposition leader in the State Assembly, S K Modi told reporters. Samata party spokesman, P K Sinha, MLC, was also present.
The NDA leaders said it was for the first time in history that a CM against whom charges had been framed by a court in a corruption case was continuing in office. They demanded immediate resignation of the CM.
The NDA leaders said a delegation of NDA would call on the Governor on Saturday to demand immediate dismissal of Rabri Devi. The designated CBI judge, S K Lal, on Friday framed charges against Rabri Devi and Laloo Yadav after rejecting their discharge petitions in a DA case accusing Laloo of having accumulated assets worth over Rs 46 lakh disproportionate to his known sources of income during the check period 1990-97.
