Mayank Diwan shines in boys swimming

NEW DELHI, August 4: Mayank Diwan, a seventh standard student of Delhi Public School (Mathura Road) got two gold medals in boys group four in the open aquatic meet, organised by the Directorate of Education (Sports) at Punjabi Bagh Club pool here recently.

Mayank emerged winner in 100 metre freestyle and got the first position in 50 metre breast stroke, his favourite event, as well.

Mayank has been training under well-known coach Raj Kumar at the Talkatora pool since 1993 and has participated in several age group and open national championships.

Incidentally, Mayank’s mother, Madhu Diwan, is a renowned coach in table tennis and is an international umpire in the game.
