Calling on Maoists to shun violence, Jharkhand CM Madhu Koda on Sunday said the initiative for peace talks should come from the rebels. “Though government prefers a dialogue, the initiative should come from them (extremists). I have no problem talking to them, as peace talks are not new,” Koda told a news conference here. Asking banned Left-wing organisation to give up weapons and shun the path of violence, he said if the rebels wished to participate in the development of Jharkhand, they should believe in the electoral system. “They cannot shape a bright future through violence. Let them join the mainstream,” he said.
