Giving a clarion call to the people to get ready for “a second freedom struggle to rid the nation of the corrupt politicians”,social activist Anna Hazare Sunday began his Jantantra Yatra (walk for democracy) from Jallianwala Bagh “to awaken at least 6 crore people” with his movement.

“For me the Jantantra Yatra is the second freedom struggle to free the nation from corruption, corrupt politicians and other social evils,” Hazare said.

Speaking from atop a vehicle stationed outside the Jallianwala Bagh entrance,Hazare called on the masses to get ready for Jail Bharo Andolan to achieve the desired objectives of the movement.

“The nation today again demands sacrifices,” Hazare said, dwelling upon the need to usher in reforms to root out corruption and bar the entry of “Gunda” politicians facing criminal charges from the electoral fray.

While stating that in case even 6 crore people were awakened by his movement,it would help create a strong Jan Shakti (against the corrupt government),he made it clear that he and his activists have no future plans to contest Lok Sabha elections.

He made it clear that Jantantra Morcha would remain an apolitical outfit. The timing of Jantantra Yatra, however, incidentally coincides with the run up to 2014 Lok Sabha polls. Hazare was flanked by former Army Chief V K Singh and other Morcha activists at the rally.

Singh, while addressing the rally, sought support from ex-armymen and people from each section of the society to bring changes for the betterment of nation.
