Bangalore, May 5: The Indian Hockey Federation had finally accepted the proposal of the chief coach of the junior team Vasudevan Baskaran to send the team to England and Germany as part of their preparations for the junior World Cup to be held at Milton Keynes, England, in September. The junior team will meet here on July 3 for the third phase of the camp.According to IHF secretary-general K Jothikumaran, who was here on Sunday, about 30 players would be invited for the camp to be held from July 3 to 18.

He said that the team would undertake a 11-day tour of England from July 20 to 30.The junior team would also participate in a four-nation tournament in Hyderabad where Egypt or South Africa, Zimbabwe and Kenya are expected to participate.Soon after their return from England the team would assemble in Chennai on August 4 to participate in the MCC all-India tournament to be held from August 5 to 15.

Baskaran was keen that the team participate in the tourney.The team would then leave for Germany to play a Test series from August 18 to 30 before returning home for a short camp prior to the departure to England on September 12. The venue of the final camp is yet to be decided. The World Cup is slated for September 17 to 28.
