NEW DELHI, August 18: Anoop Jairaj of DTEA and Awin Kowal of Kendriya Vidaylaya claimed the top honour in the medallist and non-medallist section, in the chess championship organised by 64 Squares Chess Academy at the GHPS, India Gate.

In the last round, Jairaj defeated Parimarjan Negi of Amity and Kowal defeated Shipra Aggarwal of Convent of Jesus and Mary.

Kabil Punde of Mother’s International and Shipra got the second place in the medallist and non-medallist sectiond, respectively.
