It is not correct to send a person facing serious criminal charges as a government emissary to secure former minister Nagappa’s release from Veerappan, former judge of Karnataka High Court Justice A.J. Sadashiva said yesterday.

It would be improper to seek the help of a person facing criminal charges, said Justice Sadashiva after inaugurating National Press Day celebrations organised by the State Information Department.

Justice Sadashiva also heads a commission probing alleged atrocities committed by the STF hunting Veerappan.
