APRIL 20: French Defence Miniser Alain Richard will make an official visit to India from May 18 to 19, a ministry spokesman said today. "The visit comes at a time when relations have considerably strengthened between the two countries," Jean-Francois Bureau said. The head of the French armed forces, general Jean-Pierre Kelche, will also make a three-day trip to India, from April 23 to 27, Bureau said.
Indian President K R Narayanan is currently touring the South of France after meeting President Jacques Chirac and Prime Minister Lionel Jospin in Paris on the first-ever official visit by an Indian head of state to France.
