PANCHKULA, JULY 13: Nine out of 11 complaints have been disposed off on the spot, while the two pending complaints will be disposed off after inquiry, Deputy Commissioner Saroj Siwatch said at a press conference held at her office today.

Elaborating on the monthly district Grievances Redressal Committee meeting held today, Siwatch said one of the pending cases was related to a disputed land in Chandimandir that belonged to the temple and was later, illegally occupied by some "pujari" who even raised a structure on the land. The other case was concerning the Food and Civil Supplies Department.

An inquiry will be conducted against fake ration cards as cases have been found where the persons mentioned on the card are non-existent. Action will be taken against those found guilty, the Deputy Commissioner said. She said the installing of the tubewell under the MITC project in Kherawali was complete and the administration was also planning to come out with a decision of uniform rent on shops in Kalka. When asked about the relief fund, the Deputy Commissioner told that the money will be utilised in rehabilitating the families of the soldiers killed in the Kargil conflict.

Superintendent of Police, Alok Mittal, who was also present at the meeting, when asked about the law and order situation in the township said it was under control and the 6 PCR’s in the township helped make them even more efficient. Whenever the police control room receives complaints, the nearest PCR rushes to the spot, he said.

When asked about the implementation of the recent High Court order regarding traffic regulations, he said the police were already challaning the vehicles with red lights and black films and as for the speed limit, notification has been made and once it is received, it will be implemented. Regarding the formation of the Municipal Committee, the DC said so far no decision has been taken. She also directed that strict note should be made of the protest of people who demand that only fruit and vegetable sellers should be allowed in the Kisan mandis.

She said the Kisan Mandi in front of Suraj Theatre has been banned because it was a major traffic hazard.
