A city court on Tuesday sent Safdar Nagori, the ideologue of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), Ameel Pervez, Shibly Peedical, Karimuddin Nagori and Mohammed Hafiz Hussain to a 14-day police remand.
On Tuesday, the five were produced before the court in connection with the blast in the LG Hospital compound in Maninagar area.
While producing the five before the court of Justice J M Patel, the Ahmedabad City Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) officials said they suspect the five to be connected with some bigger terror outfit and involved in the bomb blasts reported in other states in the past.
To verify these, the DCB said, they might have to be taken to other states as well. They also said that the accused have to be questioned to find out the facts behind the email that was sent to some media organisations just before the serial blasts in Ahmedabad on July 26.
