CISF constable kills S-I, shoots self

A CISF constable reportedly killed a Sub-Inspector after he was denied leave by the latter. The jawan is believed to have later shot himself with his service weapon at the CISF office attached to the public sector Bhilai Steel Plant on Sunday night. Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Sanjeev Shukla said it appears that Constable Balbir Singh (35) killed Sub-Inspector R P Singh (58) in anger and later shot himself. “Preliminary investigations reveal that Constable Balbir was issued an SLR from the armoury, while the Sub-Inspector had a 9-mm pistol with him. They had an argument, which was followed by a scuffle, and the Constable, in rage fired at his senior and later committed suicide by shooting himself,” Shukla said.
