NEW DELHI, May 20: A record number of 383 players have sought transfers to various football clubs for the current season.

During the inter-state transfers conducted by All-India Football Federation more than 40 outstation clubs have sought transfer to top Delhi clubs. On the other hand, Delhi clubs will miss the services of Aftab Ashraf (City to BMFC), Md Sabir (Youngsters to TFA), Prashant Jaggi (Simla Young to TFA), Naresh Mann (South India to TFA), Aloke Bardhan (Mughals to IFA, Calcutta), Mohit A.S. Rozario (Moonlight to Rajasthan), Naveen kumar (South India to ITI, Karnataka),Sudip Halder (SI to IFA), leslie Robson (Moonlight to AGRC, Rajasthan).

With the top clubs like Hindustan, City, Moonlight, Shastri, Indian National roping in big names, the A’ division clubs like Venus, Delhi Cantt, Garhwal Diamond and Raisina SC too have managed to hook in several players.

Hindustan Club have signed five Calcutta players — Suman Ghosal, Abhijit Mallick, Gopal Chandra saha, Farooq Ahmed Mallik, Aloke Chakraborty — and Sanjiv Kumar Dubey (from Kerala -SBT). Moonlight Club has Tapash Routh, Sandeep Dhole and Samar Kumar Das (from Calcutta), Bhupinder Singh Negi (from Rajsathan-Nivia) has joined Youngmen. The other clubs to Calcutta players are Delhi Students — Saibal Dey, Manoranjan Mondal, Desdipta Dey Biswas, Joy Rana, Raju Ghoshal — and Tarun Sangha has S.K. Giasuddin, Subhashish Majumdar, Ramen Saha, Biswajit Halder, Dibyendu Biswas, Subhendu Bhattacharya, Badan Bagh and Kanu Neha.

DSA League: Meanwhile, the Delhi Soccer Association (DSA) will be conducting its annual A’ and B’ divisions football league championship from June 1.

Fifteen teams each divided in two groups in both divisions, will take part in this year’s championship. Participating teams have been asked to get their players registered before start of the league and also to send their league entry fee to the DSA which will constitute a league sub-committee to conduct these championship.
