Dmk allies should observe patience to get their demands fulfilled, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi said here on Tuesday.
On the PMK’s opposition to the Tata titanium di-oxide project and CPI(M)’s agitation on Monday demanding housing sites to all those who did not have one, Karunanidhi said in Murasoli, the DMK mouthpiece, that even in West Bengal and Kerala, where Left Front Governments were ruling, all had not been given house pattas.
“If this is the situation prevailing in these states, why not in Tamil Nadu? We have to be patient to achieve full success,” he said. While in West Bengal, rickshaws pulled by men were in still in vogue, despite the best efforts to eradicate the evil of man pulling man, Tamil Nadu had achieved success in eliminating these types of rickshaws in 1969 itself, he said.
