PUNE, May 6: The Pune District Inter-Club League team badminton championship 1999 will commence at the PE Society’s WIE Sports Complex from May 16.

The competition shall be played in two age groups — Group A and B. Group B will consist of boys and girls in the age group of under-15 years (as of January 1999). All other teams shall be in Group A. The tourney is of around 15 days.

The competition within the respective groups and sub-groups shall be played on an “All Play All” format. After this, the eligible teams shall play further rounds on a knock-out basis. Each tie shall be on the basis of Best of Three’ consisting of one singles match and two doubles matches.

The member clubs and playing member groups wishing to compete should fill in the entry form after obtaining the signatures of the members of the teams and forward the same to BS Bhosale, Hony Tournament Secy not later than May 11 by 6.00 p.m. at the venue alongwith the requisite fees.

The draw shall be displayed at the notice board of the PE Society’s WIE Sports Complex on May 14 at 8.00 p.m. A meeting of the team captains shall be held at 6.30 p.m. on May 15 at the venue. The tourney is open only to registered players of the Poona District and Metropolitan Badminton Association.
