VADODARA, Nov 30: Makeshift Vadodara skipper, Tushar Arothe’s 123 and his unbroken association 184-run association with Jacob Martin took Vadodara to 309 for three on the first day of the West Zone Ranji Trophy match against Mumbai at the IPCL ground on Sunday.

Vadodara skipper Kiran More had to sit out owing to a thumb injury aggravated in Saturday’s one-dayer.

Arothe took to the crease at the fall of Connor Williams’ wicket with Vadodara three down for 125 and Jacob Martin at the other end on 34. While he reached his century in 120 balls with 13 fours and two sixes, Martin was still on 70.
