BULDANA, May 19: Over 600 VILLAGES IN bULDANA DISTRICT HAVE BEEN FACING THE problem of water scarcity right from the first week of the current month. As there is no source of water in 25 out of 600 villages and two Municipal Council areas and suitable measures were not taken in these villages, the problem of water shortage has become more severe in the recent past.

The villages which will have to depend purely on water supply through tankers during the current summer include Lokhanda, Botha forest, Mandka, Pala, Pendka Pangot, Wazar, Gharod, Wakikhurd, Nagangaon, Bahegaon, Pimpalgaon, Mera Budruk, Warwand, Pokhari, Hanvatkhed, Sundarkhed, Ghodap, Sailani, Lonwadi, Gaulkhed, Ghatnandra, Bartala, Dabhadi, Righora and Pimpalkhuta. The areas under Chikhli and Deulgaon Raja Municipal Councils will also have to depend on water supply through tankers.

The residents of Chikhli and Deulgaon Raja towns are also facing water scarcity during the current year because of regularly irregular water supply. At present, water is being supplied to each of the towns with the help of five tankers. It is now feared that migration of residents on a large scale may take place in June from these 25 villages and two towns if the monsoon is delayed.
