Man injured in attack on way to work in Mulund, two robbers arrested

According to the police, the victim, Willson Baretto, 52, who lives in Mulund (east) along with his 75-year-old mother, works as a house-keeping staffer in a building in Prabha Devi area. According to him, while he was on his way to office on Wednesday, two persons came in an auto and stopped near him opposite Savarkar hospital in Mulund around 5.45 am. One of them caught hold of him while the other started snatching his mobile phone and purse. When the victim tried to resist, one accused attacked on his face with a broken beer bottle, the police officer said.

The accused robbed his phone, purse and fled. The victim immediately went inside the Savarkar hospital run by BMC and after 13 stiches he was shifted to Sion hospital, said a police officer. The Navghar police registered a case of attempt to murder against the accused. The police said they have checked the CCTV footage of the incident and once accused’s identity was confirmed, they arrested the two on Thursday night.
