Mumbai Confidential: Transfer Secrecy

Police transfers within Mumbai City has been a hush-hush affair this year, as per people in the know. In order to avoid requests of placing particular officers on certain posts, the transfers were done from the Police Commissioner’s office and the laptops on which the lists were compiled were kept in the cabin itself after the day’s work and not allowed to be taken out in order to maintain maximum secrecy.

Absence Noticed

A former Congress CM and one of the most charismatic leader’s politically active family chose not to attend the wedding of a senior party leader’s son, who happens to be from the same district. While the entire Maharashtra Congress was in attendance, the family’s absence set tongues wagging as the same family was in attendance at the wedding of a BJP MLA’s son, a few days ago.

New Post Waiting

A mid-level bureaucrat known for his often controversial and no-nonsense style functioning was recently transferred to a new post after being kept in-waiting for months. His department is with one of the most experienced as well as ambitious ministers in the present government and two weeks after being transferred, he has not taken charge.
