The person in the North

In the chats between IRS officer Sameer Wankhede and actor Shah Rukh Khan that were part of the former’s petition in the Cordelia drug bust case, apart from the pleas of a father seeking the well-being of his son, there were two chats that appeared to be indicative of something more. While in one of the purported chats, the star is seen asking Wankhede whether he will speak to “the daughter.” In the other, he tells Wankhede that people from here and “the person in north” were indulging in politics that was damaging his son Aryan Khan’s case. Ever since the chats have been made available in the public domain, there is a lot of curiosity about whom the actor was referring to.

CM’s humane decision

CHIEF MINISTER Eknath Shinde on Wednesday ordered Mumbai police commissioner Vivek Phansalkar not to deploy traffic policemen/women above the age of 55 years on traffic duty in the hot afternoon sun and directed to provide drinking water and shade for police officials manning the traffic during afternoon time. The decision came when Shinde was heading to Mumbai from his Thane residence and he saw an elderly policeman manning the traffic in scorching heat. Shinde immediately called up Phansalkar and directed him not to deploy traffic policemen above the age of 55 years on traffic duty in the afternoon. He also ordered that traffic policemen suffering from any serious illness should not be deployed for duty in summer.

Changing fortunes

CM EKNATH Shinde’s close aide Sachin Joshi was allegedly under ED lens and after Shinde’s rebellion against Uddhav Thackeray, nobody has heard anything about the case. Last week, in a rare public appearance, Joshi was seen welcoming BJP chief JP Nadda at CM’s residence and even his photograph along with the two has gone viral.
