Mumbai Confidential: Court To The Rescue

In a span of 24 hours, after HC issued a stay on disbursement of MLA fund and sought details of the earlier release, opposition MLAs reportedly received calls from the CMO asking them to submit details of works they wished to undertake with their MLA funds.

The Opposition had approached court citing injustice in fund distribution. After a rap from the court, CMO was forced to make calls to Opposition MLAs on March 31, the last day of the fiscal, to settle government accounts, in a bid to submit a satisfactory reply to the court at the next hearing. Already faced with problems, the Opposition MLAs thanked the court for coming to their rescue.
