At least three former bureaucrats/police officers are seeking Lok Sabha tickets from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Hingoli, Dhule, Jalgaon are among the seats where former officials might be given an opportunity by the BJP. One of those officers has been in the good books of almost every Chief Minister in the past 15 years and close to leaders of all parties. The question is as to whether his political management will be as good as was his project management.

Thorat At His Best
Congress legislative party leader Balasaheb Thorat is known for his mild demeanour and hesitant oratory. But at the party’s study workshop in Lonavala, Thorat was at his aggressive best, so much so that others at the venue spontaneously cheered when he slammed Ashok Chavan by naming him and even when he made a special mention of Delhi’s leaders who dictate state leadership to welcome turncoats. “Thorat, ekdum Jorat” (Thorat, you are bang on) was the loudest shout from the crowd.
