With India’s top wrestlers protesting against BJP MP Brij Bhushan Singh over sexual harassment charges, the International Olympic Committee called for a “unbiased, criminal investigation in line with local law”, adding that “the safety and wellbeing of these athletes is duly considered throughout the process.”

🔴 The United World Wrestling, meanwhile, has threatened to suspend India from international wrestling if fresh Wrestling Federation of India elections were not conducted within a stipulated period.

🔴 The IOC’s statement came shortly after the wrestlers announced their decision to throw away their medals into the Ganga river. However, with farmer leader Naresh Tikait’s intervention, who asked them to defer their act of protest by five days, the wrestlers reversed their decision.
