With the Prime Minister set to inaugurate the new Parliament building on May 28, the Opposition parties have found something to unite on. The TMC, AAP, CPI(M) and CPI said Tuesday that they have decided to skip the inauguration, alleging breach of Constitutional propriety as President Droupadi Murmu, the head of Parliament, has not been invited. Congress sources said it was likely to stay away too.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) made history Tuesday as the highest number of women ever were selected for the Indian civil services. This is significant considering that just two decades ago, women accounted for just 20% of the selected candidates. Moreover, the top four ranks this year have been claimed by women.
