🔴 Two days after the train tragedy in Odisha’s Balasore district, which claimed 275 lives and left over 1,000 injured, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw recommended a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the accident. Vaishnaw asserted that the “root cause”, and people behind the act have been identified.

Raju Marndi, from Odisha’s Mayubhanj, who lost his father, is one among the many queuing outside the AIIMS mortuary in Bhubaneswar, looking for a familiar face among the dead. While some find their kin, others brace for a longer wait.
🔴 Nearly 50 hours after the horrific crash, trains began moving through the Balasore accident site. The resumption of traffic was the result of work undertaken on a war-footing by more than 1,000 workers and railway officials through Saturday night and Sunday.
