Ram Charan recollects how wife Upasana reacted to an expensive gift: ‘Thought she was going to be floored…’

He also had a piece of advice upfront for men looking to gift something to women. “Ask them before gifting. So that it is not rejected. They are not in for any surprises,” said Ram Charan.

Admitting that he loves to gift people, and do online shopping, he said, “It is my time pass hobby, I think.”

Ram Charan, 38, also went down memory lane and spoke about his fondness for watches such that his first gift to himself was a watch. “Big purchase with my own money was a watch. I used to love watches. Now I am getting more,” recollected Ram Charan.

On his fashion choices, the Magadheera actor said that he has had his “phases”. “I had my phases. I used to love dressing up at one point. I used to look sharp. Then, at another time, I was picking up the most crumpled shirt, a check shirt. I used to go to weddings with checks on,” he recalled.

On what has transpired now, Ram Charan shared, “But now to let people know that I respect them, I wear something decent and go but no more dressing up. By the time I was married, I became so neutral in my colours — green, black, white — there is nothing she (Upasana) can comment on that.”
