Any life-altering event, such as a breakup or divorce, may leave one clueless about the next steps. Something similar happened with Khloe Kardashian who “turned to the gym” as she “didn’t really know what to do” after her divorce from Lamar Odom. For the uninitiated, Odom and Kardashian, who tied the knot in 2019, called it quits in 2013 before getting officially divorced in 2015.
In a recent interview with InStyle, the 38-year-old shared that her health and fitness journey began around December 2013 during her split. “Of course, in the beginning, you [have to] get over that hump of it being really hard and something so new for you. But I felt so accomplished,” she said.

She revealed that she used to be “obsessive” with the numbers on the scale. “When I first started [working out], I cared so much. Maybe [it’s] just being younger. I think you care about the scale. The scale Fs with you,” she told the outlet, adding that she doesn’t even look at a scale anymore. “I think it’s really unhealthy. I haven’t in years. They are just numbers.”
Knowing that she is in control of her fitness journey is what keeps Kardashian dedicated to her health. “I’m sort of a control freak, but in life, we can’t control everything. But the gym, what I put in it, I know I’m going to get out of it. And being a control freak — I’m proud of it — I love that I have that control,” she said.
She added that working out gives her the “release”. She said, “If I’m having a really bad day, I go to the gym. I might not want to go to the gym, but I go and right when I’m done, I feel so much lighter. I’ve never regretted going to a workout. I’ve always regretted missing them or pushing the snooze button.”

Prior to this, she had opened up about her fitness and weight loss while slamming trolls who accused her of consuming semaglutide, an antidiabetic medication which many people are now consuming for weight loss. “Let’s not discredit my years of working out. I get up 5 days a week at 6 am to train. Please stop with your assumptions. I guess new year still means mean people,” she said.
