Every new year, we make up our minds to start things afresh but by the middle of the year, we are already worn out and bogged down by all that has happened in the meanwhile. Yes, it is difficult to keep a track of things, let alone the jar of Nutella. When things get really out of hand, don’t fret. Here’s a list of ways that help you keep things on track and stay organised. Easy and simple!
1. Make up your mind
This is the most difficult part to begin with, but no worries — once this is done, half the battle is won! Make up your mind to start things afresh and look at things in a new light. When that follows, you will automatically do things on your own. Still cannot wait up? Think about point 6 and wake up already!
2. Positive affirmations
This is something that will keep you going. Even when you are in the middle of something and just don’t have enough motivation to complete the work, this is where positive affirmations help. Either say it out loud or maintain little sticky notes filled with positive quotes for your mind. Just inspire yourself.
3. Plan it out
This requires a little something called your ‘super planner/organiser’. Get hold of a planner and start chalking out your day. You could set challenges for yourself, time yourself and so much more. Start with baby steps and then take giant leaps!
4. Create a playlist
A fun and energetic playlist can help immensely. You can finish up all your tasks one by one and the music is bound to keep you going without you getting bored of feeling sluggish. Fill up your playlist with all your favourites — something you’d love to listen to any time of the day.
5. The Happy Jar
This is exclusively a DIY thing that will keep you inspired throughout the week. Once you finish a day, sit at night, think of something that made you happy that day and write it down on a piece of paper. Then put the paper in a jar. Keep doing this till the end of the working week. Over weekends, sit and read them. Now, that will keep you going!
6. Cheat Day
This one right here should definitely help. Right in the beginning of the week, think of your favourite dessert/savoury item or maybe a pair of pumps or even a nice bag that you have been drooling over. Now, only after you have successfully survived the weekdays, can you treat yourself with the cheat-day-treat. So, now you have something to look forward to at the end of the week. Yay!
Tip: The level of the treat should be proportional to your hard work for the entire week.
