Rashmika Mandanna always ensures to stay at the top of her fitness game by not just working out and following a good diet but also staying hydrated. As such, when the Goodbye actor took to Instagram Stories with a glimpse of her water bottle with a reminder for all to have their share for the day, we couldn’t help but take note.
“Reminding you all to drink wataaaaaaaaar (water), wrote Rashmika, alongside a bottle that shows time markings on a bottle.
Taking a leaf out of her diary, we decided to understand why hydration is important.
“Staying hydrated throughout the day and night is important for your overall well-being,” said Mohini Dongre, dietician, Narayana Superspeciality Hospital Gurugram, sharing that it helps cleanse your organs from within which helps prevent dehydration among other issues.
Dongre also shared some tips that can help you to remember to drink enough water:
Set reminders
Use your phone or a smartwatch to set regular reminders throughout the day. These reminders can help you to drink water every hour. There are various apps designed to track and remind you to drink enough water. They also have customisable settings to fit your preferences.
Keep a water bottle handy
Carry a reusable water bottle with you wherever you go. Having it within arm’s reach makes it easier to remember to drink water.
Infuse with flavour
Add natural flavours like lemon, cucumber, or mint to your water to make it more appealing and refreshing.
Create a schedule
Establish a water-drinking routine. For example, drink a glass of water when you wake up, before meals, and before bedtime.
Use sip lids
Drinking through a straw or using a sip lid might encourage you to take more sips without thinking.
Track your water intake
Keep a log or use a journal to track your daily water consumption. This visual record can help you stay hydrated.
Associate with activities
Link drinking water to specific activities, such as during TV commercial breaks or after completing a task.
Make it accessible
Keep water easily accessible at your workspace, bedside, and dining area.
Monitor urine colour
It’s important to use the colour of your urine as a hydration indicator. Light yellow usually indicates proper hydration, said Dongre.
