Jacqueline Fernandez smells good all day, and the secret lies in a special ‘fragrance milk’ that promises to control body odour. Speaking with Kamiya Jani from Curly Tales, the Housefull 3 actor shared, “This milk contains some cardamoms, cinnamon, clove, star anise, rose petals, almond milk, and it’s sweetened with a bit of maple syrup. This is a way of cutting off any odour-inducing bacteria.”
Curious, we reached out to health experts to learn whether ‘fragrance milk’ is truly an effective way to smell good all day long. Here’s what they had to say.
CV Aishwarya, a clinical nutritionist and lecturer at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai, shared that this combination of cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, star anise, rose petals, almond milk, and maple syrup may help reduce body odour indirectly, but it is not a guaranteed or primary treatment.
Body odour occurs when skin bacteria break down sweat, producing strong-smelling compounds. “Spices like cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, and star anise contain antimicrobial and antioxidant compounds that can reduce the growth of odour-causing bacteria and support digestion, which indirectly influences body scent. Rose petals contain natural aromatic oils that may slightly alter sweat’s fragrance. Almond milk and maple syrup do not directly control odour, but almond milk may help individuals who experience body odour due to dairy sensitivity,” she explained.
According to Aishwarya, this mixture supports gut health, reduces bacterial activity, and provides antioxidants, which can mildly improve natural body scent over time. However, she added that it does not stop sweating or eliminate body odour completely, especially if the cause is hormonal changes, infections, or lifestyle factors. It should be seen as a supportive dietary measure, not a clinical remedy.

Dr Veena Praveen, Regional Medical Head (South) and Consultant Dermatologist at Kaya Limited, added that body odour primarily develops when sweat mixes with bacteria that naturally live on the skin, especially in the underarms, groin, and feet. So while fragrant ingredients may make you feel fresher internally or influence breath and digestion, they do not replace external hygiene or dermatological care, said Dr Praveen. “At best, these drinks can be a supportive wellness habit. But they cannot be considered a standalone or guaranteed remedy for body odour,” she added.
“Excessive sweating can be reduced by using antiperspirants at night, wearing breathable fabrics, and keeping the body cool through hydration and ventilation,” said experts, further suggesting the following strategies to curb body odour:
