Maharashtra has registered 94 swine flu cases with Pune accounting for 60 of them,mostly school children,according to the state cell monitoring the pandemic.
The state recorded 27 fresh cases that included 11 students from Pune and 16 inmates of St Peter boarding school at Panchgani in the neighbouring Satara district since,health officials said.
Four schools in the city have already closed down as a precautionary measure after detection of positive cases in different classes.
Meanwhile,the civic authorities have issued an appeal to those returning to the city from abroad to remain indoors for week.
Around 30 patients have been discharged after prescribed treatment,officials noted.
The rural area of the district has so far remained unaffected by the virus,they added.
