Not that we mean to misquote Steve Jobs, but this is really what you should do this Sunday. Monkey Bar, in association with lifestyle blog Little Black Book Delhi, is organising its first-ever Gastro-Bazaar at its Vasant Kunj outlet on February 1. The lawns outside the great glass pyramid will be populated by a host of food brands from Delhi-NCR and elsewhere in the country.
Participating brands include Bangalore-based SweetMoon Bakeshop making its Delhi debut, Oriental eatery Happy Hakka, Cibo Terroso’s pizza, Greek restaurant Mykonos, Honey Twigs natural honey, Hokey Pokey ice creams, MexitUp and Lamabas Catering, among a slew of others. Monkey Bar will be churning out its crowd favourites, from the Mobar burger to Mobar Laksa. Those looking for more liquid assets can head to the DIY Cocktail corner where they can shake (or stir) up their own drinks or indulge in macaroons laced (read soaked) in shooters such as the B-52 and Sambuca.
The highlight of the event, amid hourly competitions including ice cream tub-eating and burger face-offs, is the Gastro-Quotient Quiz.
Teams of up to three people each can participate in a head scratcher comprising questions on pop culture, general knowledge, and of course, all things food. With the final round being conducted by chef-owner Manu Chandra, the winners get to walk away with hampers crammed with goodies from Monkey Bar and other food brands. So again, stay hungry, stay smart (good advice cannot be repeated too often).
The Gastro-Bazaar will be held on Sunday, 10am onwards; entry is free. Register for the quiz on http://www.littleblackbookdelhi.com.
