Ever thought the world in Alice in Wonderland was strange, and couldn’t quite get your head around half the things there? Then a visit to the Toppels’ roadside café in Wertheim, Germany, is not a place you’d want to visit. Unless, you wanted a migraine, a crick in your neck and a literal manifestation of the world going upside-down.
We kid you not. The Toppels’ House is a café where everything is upside down. Sure, there have been other houses and museums that claim to have done this from the outside, but these guys just take it far out and right down to the minutest detail. From the living room, kitchen, bedrooms… and even the bathroom!
They’ve even got these cool beer and coffee mugs that are upside-down.
Unsurprisingly, the place is a photogrpher’s heaven or a viewer’s hell, depending on how you look at it, and your ability to stand looking at things the ‘wrong side up’ for the longest of time.
The café is reportedly owned by a fictitious family called the Toppels, and was opened at the end of February this year. Outside, not only is the building down-side up, but there is even a floating car on the outside porch.
The photos of this café have had people on social media going nuts! (blame the Instagrammers, we say!) The baristas appear to be brewing coffee and serving drinks upside down, people sip coffees from inverted mugs sitting ON inverted cups with tables of lampshades.
Check out some of the photos visitors have posted online. Be warned, do not turn your head at crazy angles to make sense of things!
Do you think India should get such a café as well?
