According to Malhotra, regular consumption of sugary foods can lead to several health issues, including:

  • Type 2 diabetes: Consistently high blood sugar levels can increase the risk of developing diabetes.
  • Heart disease: Sugar consumption can contribute to high blood pressure and unhealthy cholesterol levels, elevating heart disease risk.
