Navratri, or the nine-day-long Hindu festival, is being celebrated with much fervour across the country. During this festival, devotees worship the nine different forms of Goddess Durga on each day and also observe a fast. This year, the auspicious period is being observed from March 22 to 30 and will conclude with Ram Navami, which will be celebrated on the last day.
As such, if you too are observing a fast and are looking for a recipe that is different yet healthy and simple, we bring you one that not only ticks these boxes but will also keep you energised throughout the day.
Tanvi Gulati, a nutritionist, took to Instagram to share a healthy recipe for a “navratri smoothie”. “The kitchen will be stocked with millets, ghee, and loads of seeds and nuts. Here’s a healthy, tasty, and filling navratri smoothie recipe that will keep you full and energetic throughout the day,” wrote Tanvi, as she shared the recipe.
Ingredients
*10-12 makhana/fox nuts
*2 dates
*1 walnut
*6 raisins
*1 tsp any seeds
*2 tsp fresh pomegranate
*150 ml water
Method
Blend all the ingredients together into a smoothie
For serving
2 tsp soaked chia/ basil seeds
Garnish with a few foxnuts and pomegranate seeds
