Celebrations have already begun, what with Christmas and New Year knocking on our doors already. Joining in the celebrations is Bengaluru city, with its biggest annual cake show — a popular attraction around this time of the year. And as the icing on the cake this time is that a Bengaluru-based businessman C Ramachandran has offered city dwellers a sight to behold — by making cake replicas of the London Bridge, that reportedly weigh 500kg. A huge dragon cake of reportedly 7.5ft is one of the main attractions at the show.

Visitors seemed excited as they went around looking in awe at the different varieties of cake designs in front of them. Reportedly, the event is being organised at Bengaluru’s Indian High School ground near UB City. The cake show, which started on December 16, will conclude on the New Year’s Eve.

Held in association with the National Consumer Fair (NCF), other highlights at this year’s show includes mythical Aladdin and Magic carpet, the evolution of Chess, Royal Rajasthan, Cookie Doll House, Secret Santa, etc.

Reportedly, Ramachandran, the brain behind the London Bridge cake, said it was challenging to perfect the design of the cake and then execute it. He said cake decorators are patient and add the intricacy in the final product with their many hours of precise hard work. Ramachandran is himself a veteran cake artist and baker.
