(Source: Worlds 50 Best Restaurants.com) Bangalore’s culinary scene is making global waves as Farmlore, a cuisine-agnostic, farm-to-table restaurant, has been awarded the prestigious American Express One To Watch Award as part of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025. Chef Ebenezer, with an extensive culinary journey spanning five-star hotels, cruise liners, and international restaurants—including his time at Nadodi in Kuala Lumpur—brings a diverse and evolutionary approach to his menu. His philosophy is clear: “I don’t believe in signatures,” Ebenezer says in an interview with The World’s 50 Best Restaurants. Rather than defining the restaurant by static dishes, he focuses on innovation, ensuring each experience at Farmlore is distinct and dynamic.
One of Farmlore’s defining features is its limited seating—just 18 guests per service, ensuring exclusivity and personalisation. Diners are surrounded by lush greenery, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering panoramic views of banana and bay trees, lemongrass, and mango groves. The farm itself is a model of sustainability, featuring a solar-powered hydroponic system and a vertical farm, contributing up to 80% of the restaurant’s produce.
Sustainability extends beyond farming; traditional techniques are employed, such as growing radishes alongside vegetable patches to enrich the soil and sourcing milk from farm-owned Hallikar cows.
By earning the One To Watch Award, Farmlore is cementing its place in the international gastronomy scene. As the global spotlight turns towards India’s fine dining innovations, Farmlore is proof of progressive, responsible, and exceptional gastronomy.
