After whipping up her childhood favourite dish, mac and cheese, Alia Bhatt is back with yet another recipe. For the second episode of the series ‘In My Mama’s Kitchen’ on her YouTube channel, the Jigra actor tried making an apple crumble, a simple dessert that comes together in less than half an hour.

“And here I thought you don’t feel like eating when you cook! 😋 Couldn’t wait to finish baking this yum dish from Mama’s cookbook! 👩🏻‍🍳,” Alia Bhatt captioned the video, adding that she “burnt her hand for this one.”

She accidentally touched the hot dish right out of the oven, following which Razdan advised her to place the injured finger under running tap water till it soothes.

“Who’s going to eat this, that’s the big question — I think we’ll send some to Shaheen, some for Raha and then you better get it out of the house because I don’t need to eat anymore sweet stuff this month. I think I’m done with my quota,” Razdan playfully quipped.

Here’s a quick recipe for you to try this treat at home:

Ingredients:

Cored and peeled apples
110 g soft brown sugar
110 g butter
175 g of flour
Sesame seeds
2 tbsp of white sugar
A few cloves
Pinch of nutmeg powder

Method:

First, Soni Razdan added the flour into a bowl and mixed butter with her fingers, making a crumble.

Next, she added brown sugar and continued crumbling the mixture. Sprinkling some sesame seeds for added taste, the duo took out a bowl of apples and placed some cloves.

The apples were also seasoned with nutmeg powder and white or castor sugar.

Then, they added the crumble mixture to cover the apples and baked the dish in an oven at 200°C for at least 35 minutes.

You can enjoy the ‘Soni-Bhatt’ crumble with a dollop of whipped cream or gelato.

During the outtakes, we also saw Bhatt taking bites of the crumble while cooking. “I thought when you cook you don’t like to be eating things,” Razdan asked pointedly, as the Gangubai Kathiawadi actor put a spoonful in her mouth and laughed guiltily.
