Mother’s Day is here and what better than to celebrate mothers and the immense contribution that they make to shaping one’s life and living. Celebrated every second Sunday of May, which this year falls on May 14, Mother’s Day is seen to be a significant occasion to pay an ode to motherhood and mothers. As such, celebrity mothers too couldn’t stay away from expressing their emotions as mothers and celebrating their sheer strength as women.

Sameera Reddy, a mother-of-two, who has been influential in spearheading a body-positive movement took to Instagram recently to share, “My body has changed and so has my attitude. I own my size, my style, my vibe. I feel sexy as hell in my skin…”

The former actor can be seen posing for the shutterbugs in a crop top and a pair of jeans with subtle makeup on.

People were left mighty impressed. Her mother-in-law Manjri Varde wrote, “As you should. As every woman and girl should! Celebrate yourself.” Another user commented, “You are such an inspiration!!! I wish that all women irrespective of shape and sizes have the confidence and self-love like you do.”

Meanwhile, director and writer Tahira Kashyap, a mother of two, penned a beautiful poem on mothers who are struggling with the idea of coming back to work post-motherhood.

“Kya ajab or gazab hai yeh word manifestation….(what a weird word is manifestation)” she began. Penning a note on how motherhood is not easy, she wrote, “agar durr se dekho toh it can make anyone dizzy (if you see it from afar, it can make anyone dizzy)…I have dreams, hopes, desires, and goals, but I now realise…living itself is a joy,” shared Tahira, who is married to actor Ayushmann Khurrana.

“How does it matter if I am 18, 20, 30, 40, or 82. …my bravest soldiers ….Happy Mother’s Day…it doesn’t matter if it takes some more time,” expressed Tahira, 40.

Video jockey Bani J wrote, “ayy loved listening to this!” Another shared, “Bestest best words…very well versed Tahira…!got me teary eyed.”
