Congratulations are in order for actor couple Gautam Rode and Pankhuri Awasthy who welcomed twins — a boy and a girl — on Tuesday. Announcing the arrival of their babies on social media, they wrote, “As we embrace this new chapter as a family of four, we are filled with heartfelt gratitude for the love and blessings showered upon us.”
Calling themselves “twice blessed”, they shared a note which read: “We have been blessed with a baby boy and a baby girl. Hearts brimming with joy and gratitude. We joyously announce the start of our journey as a family of four. Thank you for all the love and blessings.”
Gautam and Pankhuri, who never fail to serve couple goals with their endearing pictures and hilarious videos, first met in 2015 when Pankhuri was working on the show Razia Sultan, and Gautam was essaying Karn in the show Suryaputra Karn.
“I was laying on the chair as I was very tired and it was very sunny. Suddenly I see an entourage passing by where a person in a mythological costume, one person holding an umbrella for him and one person holding a bowl of salad for him, 2 ADs walking behind and another one walking ahead of him. I was just thinking ‘who is this person who needs so many people around him’ and I was very new so I didn’t know how things happen. He looked at me and nodded in acknowledgment and so even I nodded in agreement but in my head, I was like these people become too much of an actor,” she told TellyChakkar.
Soon, the duo became friends, and eventually, love blossomed. Pankhuri had earlier revealed that they first went on a date on December 27, 2015. In no time, rumours of them dating started making the rounds online but the couple remained tight-lipped about the same.
Putting all rumours to rest, Gautam and Pankhuri exchanged the rings on Diwali 2017 and shared a picture of the two with the caption, “Start of a new journey.”
“Yes, Pankhuri and I recently got engaged and I feel lucky to have found a life partner like her. We share the same wavelength and she has fit into my family perfectly,” Gautam said at the time.
In February 2018, the actor tied the knot in a destination wedding at Tijara Fort Palace in Alwar, Rajasthan.
In May this year, the couple announced their pregnancy with a video. “Our family is growing and as we embrace this new phase and prepare ourselves to don these new roles, we seek your blessings and best wishes!” they wrote.
A month after announcing the pregnancy, they shared that they are expecting twins. “‘We made a wish and two came true.’ Double the love, double the joy, thank you, everyone, for being a part of our celebration, we’re so grateful,” the duo captioned the post.
