The two-day G20 Summit concluded on Sunday, with global leaders bidding farewell to the country after a couple of eventful days. Many eyes were on UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murty, who is also the daughter of famed Indian businessman Narayana Murthy. Social media couldn’t get enough of the duo’s endearing moments during the summit, labelling them “couple goals”.
It all began when they posted an adorable picture of Akshata adjusting Rishi’s tie moments before they disembarked from the plane in India. This intimate picture, shared from the UK PM‘s account amidst a slew of official pictures, highlighted the couple’s bond and set the tone for the trip ahead.

The same day, Rishi and Akshata visited the British Council India where they spent time “with world leaders of tomorrow”, as the UK PM put it. In one of the series of candid shots shared from the official account, the duo can be seen showcasing their jerseys with ‘Sunak’ and ‘Murty’ written on them. Akshata surely had an amusing reaction to the named jerseys!

The next day, Rishi and Akshata came elegantly dressed up for the state dinner hosted by President Droupadi Murmu. While Akshata opted for a multicoloured Indian wear, Rishi looked dapper in a black tuxedo. The former shared an adorable picture of the duo smiling at each other as they entered the venue.

Early the next morning, they visited Delhi’s famous Akshardham Temple amidst heavy rain. The temple shared a series of pictures of the couple’s visit in which they can be seen performing the aarti together. What caught everyone’s attention, however, was a snap in which Rishi held a red umbrella over Akshata and him amid the rain as they walked barefoot. The picture surely looked like straight out of a movie for social media users.

Later that evening, the duo concluded their memorable stay in India. As she boarded her flight back to the UK, Akshata decided to slip into a traditional Indian ensemble – a sari. She opted for a soft pink sari from Raw Mango which she paired with a matching blouse. Rishi, as always, was seen in a suave black tuxedo.
