When we think of unusual ways to drape a sari, we remember Shilpa Shetty and Taapsee Pannu. While Shetty prefers to accessorise her saris with belts, Pannu adds a more modern twist to her six yards by pairing them with LBDs and trousers. Joining them on an unusual journey is Yami Gautam.
Gautam who is known for playing it safe rather than experimenting, has taken this unusual route and has left us in awe of her. At the International Children’s Film Festival in Hyderabad, the Kaabil actor stepped out in an Anju Modi creation. She paired the sari with a high neck blouse and a yellow ethnic shrug that stole the show. The three-quarter sleeve shrug featuring floral embroidery on the shoulders is a beauty. The trick that worked wonders here is that Gautam let one side of the shrug do the talking while the other side was left hidden by the pallu, so that there was a perfect balance between the two.
She accessorised her look with earrings and a statement ring from Aquamarine Jewellery. Make-up artist Shraddha Naik rounded out her look with minimal make-up and teal green winged eyes, while hairstylist Ayesha DeVitre tied her hair in a braided ponytail. We love the look!
Gautam was last seen sporting a semi-formal look in a Forever 21 T-shirt and Zara checkered trousers. Styled by Aalia Al Rufai, the 28-year-old looked stunning in the outfit.
The pretty actor seems to be able to nail both western and ethnic looks effortlessly.
